IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

We made it through another week! I have been trying to keep the bugs and flu at bay as Dave's immune system is really low. He had a rough weekend and spent most of the time in bed. He just doesn't feel good and wishes this was all over so he can be healthy again. He has his sixth and final treatment which will begin after he sees the doctor on the 6th of February. He just needs to hang in there a little bit longer.

Meanwhile, I have been keeping busy. I helped out last Saturday cleaning and sorting out the barn at the community garden at Alder Creek Farms. It was a beautiful day and we even spotted the herd of elk out enjoying the sun. There were about 25 of us pitching in to get all the work done and it still took most of the day.

The weather was still sunny and warm on Sunday so I spent some time out in my yard doing a little pruning and cleaning up. The weatherman was forecasting stormy weather for the first of the week so I figured it was now or never (or at least until the next sun break and who knows when that will be).

Sure enough, the rain and wind came back with vengeance so I am glad I got a little of my yard done. That darn Bitter Crest is coming up all over the place and trying to keep up with that weed is an endless task.

We made four trips into Tillamook this week. Monday Dave had his blood drawn and checked and his platelets were really low. On Tuesday I drove back into Tillamook to attend a Master Gardeners class. In order to keep up with my certification, I have to attend nine hours of class time and the classes are 3-hours long. The class on Tuesday was on propagation and I got refreshed on how to start plants from seeds and leaves, etc. Even though I have taken these classes before, I am amazed how much I forget. There is only so much you can cram into your head at one time. So it's one class down and two more to go and I am trying to squeeze them in between my other priorities.

Thursday it was back into Tillamook for Dave's blood draw and PICC clean. His PICC was clogged last time he was in and it was hard for them to draw any blood so we spent some time getting it unclogged. His blood count was back up since Monday. It usually is when it is about time to go back in for another treatment.

Then today we are making another trip into Tillamook because he had a doctor's appointment. After the appointment we are headed into West Linn and we are going to have a birthday celebration for our youngest granddaughter Jordyn, who will be turning six on Saturday. We will drive back home after that as Dave has another appointment set up for Monday at the hospital in Tillamook.

We are also going to make a stop by the cemetery. It has been ten years since Dave's mom died and today would have been her birthday. We miss her very much.
