IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

After all the stuff going on last week, this week has been pretty quiet.

Dave was back and forth with Blazer games most of the weekend and I opted to stay home. He had a double header on Saturday with a PSU women's basketball telecast in the afternoon and a Blazer radio broadcast that night. He spent that night in town with the kids because it was a long busy day and night and he was pretty tuckered out. After driving home on Sunday, he drove back into town again on Monday and then was late getting home from that game because it went into overtime. Then he drove back to the valley again on Wednesday where he spent the night and came back home on Thursday. He's finally catching a break because the team goes on the road for a few days and he doesn't have to be back for another game until next Tuesday.

Jan’s haircut

I have a couple of pictures this week. The first one is actually from last week...I got a haircut a week ago and it ended up a little shorter than usual. It's kind of nice not to have to deal with longer hair and once Dave got over the shock of seeing it, he decided it looked pretty good so I'm comfortable with it.

Vacuuming the garage

The other one is from earlier this week. Dave decided he needed to document the fact that he caught me VACUUMING the garage. I know it looks a little "excessive", but I can explain. I needed to put the renewal stickers on the license plates on the Jeep. The car needed to be moved to do that, and once it was out of there, I saw how dirty the floor of the garage was so I grabbed a broom and started sweeping. There was a LOT of dirt to deal with, so we grabbed the vacuum and started cleaning. So, there's a perfectly logical reason for the picture. It just looks a little odd!

The weather was absolutely gorgeous over the weekend without a cloud in the sky. However, the east wind was blowing steadily and thus playing havoc with my sinuses. My eyes were burning so badly after being outside all afternoon that I was pretty uncomfortable. I don't know what there is in the air that really irritates my eyes. I worked out in the yard pulling weeds and working among the Juniper bushes. I was clearing some overgrown suckers that were coming up and got my arms all scratched, so I was quite the sight to see.

I helped with the Master Gardeners classes on Tuesday morning and after stopping by Freddies for a few things I came home. You can always tell when it is the first Tuesday of each month at Freddies, because it is Senior Citizen Day with a 10% discount on some things. All the aisles are jammed with all these slow, white-haired old folks and I hate to think that I am just like them (well not quite but getting there).

Thursday was another day packed full of meetings and appointments. I had a Master Gardeners board meeting to attend in the morning, followed by a plant sale meeting and then a doctor's appointment after that. I had to go back for a follow-up after my colonoscopy to find out about the polyp the surgeon had found. Although it was tiny, it was malignant but the doctor said not to worry about it. Now I have to go through this procedure again in four years - goodie for me!

That afternoon, I also met Dave in Tillamook at the funeral home where we attended a memorial service for a friend who died in Wheeler. The sheriff found his body at home after a welfare check as no one had seen him for a few days. Tom was one of these quiet gentlemen who will be missed. He helped us out in the parks by pulling weeds and watering. He was originally from New York and he had a daughter who still lives there as well as a son in San Diego.

As I said, there isn't much to talk about this week. Right now, we have no plans for the weekend either.
