IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

It's been a quiet week for me. I managed to aggravate my knee while I was at my aerobics class on Monday, so I have been hanging out on the recliner all week. Even before Monday it had been bothering me so I had made a doctor's appointment a couple of weeks ago and today is the day I go in to see him. I am getting tired of taking pain pills and not getting a good night's sleep. I am just hoping it isn't something really serious, but I know one thing, I want to get back to my normal activities once again.

Boy, have we had the rainstorms this week with thunder and lightning to go along with them. We had nine inches of rain in three days! I haven't seen it rain this hard and for this long of a period since last year! Most of my flowers that I didn't store in the greenhouse are now gone because of the weather. I did manage to get out between storms and plant some daffodil bulbs around the yard. Freddy's had a big sale last weekend on bulbs so I picked up a package. I can't wait till spring when they will be blooming.

Jack O-Lantern

I also carved my Halloween jack o-lantern this week. I don't have any trick or treaters that come by on Halloween night to scare but I enjoy getting in the mood just the same. It also saves on all the candy that I don't have to buy and eat myself!

Dave was gone overnight on Tuesday because of the Blazer game. Then he stayed in town most of Wednesday because he promised a Blazer Broadcasting friend, Rich Patterson that he would wire in a couple of new electrical outlets for Christmas decorations. Rich is big on house lights at Christmas time and he had just moved into a new place last summer. So Dave made him happy by getting him all set for the holidays. Dave also had to run by our daughter's place in Silverton on the way home and leave a couple of recessed lights that she wants to install. She wants to put one of those motion lights in the front walk as people arrive so that they will be able to find themselves to the front door. After all of that (and about 350 miles), Dave got home around 5:30 for dinner.

I attended my Garden Club meeting this week. We got a tour of the Alder Creek Farm in Nehalem. This is a co-op farm that includes a garden where children from the local school plant pumpkins and sunflowers and then harvest them in the fall and also there is a community garden there. It is a great place and what extra food then grow they give to the local food bank so everyone benefits.

I am going to attend a TGIF party with some friends here in Wheeler on Friday while Dave is performing in his play over in Nehalem. This is their final weekend for "Radio Daze". They were very successful last weekend with either a sellout or near-sellout for each performance. I hope word gets out about how entertaining the play is and they have another great turnout. They certainly work hard to present these performances.
