IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Happy Friday the thirteenth to everyone! I hope nothing unlucky happens to any of you!

We started our weekend by attending a birthday party at the Garibaldi Pub for a friend, Stan Boyd whose birthday was Saturday. Dave and I don't usually go to bars because of all the smoking, but since that has been banned in this state, it was rather pleasant. We watched people make fools of themselves singing to the karaoke machine and it was fun seeing old friends that we hadn't seen in ages at the party.

Sunday, Dave drove into Portland for an early Blazer game while I stayed home. Even though the game was over by 5:30 p.m., he spent the night in town because he had a doctor's appointment early on Monday morning. He went to see the orthopedic doctor about his knees. After several x-rays, the doctor was at a mystery as to what he is suffering. He doesn't have a lot of arthritis...certainly not enough to cause as much pain as he has had. He gave him a cortisone shot. If you have never had one of those babies, let me tell you it isn't very fun. They come at you with this long needle and they seem to grind it into your kneecap. Dave hates needles anyway, so I am glad I wasn't along for that trip. Fortunately, his knees seem to be reacting favorably to the cortisone and he is finally been able to get some rest at night.

Life’s good! After I got done with my water aerobics class on Monday, I was surprised to walk out the door to snow coming down. I know that we have about six more weeks of winter, but I am not prepared for more snow. Especially after we had about a week of really nice sunshine prior to that. I wish Mother Nature would quite teasing me!

The kids went to Sunriver this weekend to play in the snow. They rented a condo and really had a great time. It had a hot tub, so after a day sledding in the snow, everyone jumped in to warm up! We were going to go along too, but it is a long way over there for just for one day. We would have had to get up at the crack of dawn to make it back to Portland for the Blazer game on Sunday afternoon. We don't like to cut it that close on a game day, especially with snow involved!

Snow Fun! It was back into town on Wednesday because of another Blazer game. I went along this time and dropped Dave off at the Rose Garden so I could use the car and run a few errands while I was in town. I had my nails done and then did some serious shopping at Costco. Our supply room was getting pretty low.

I hope everyone has a lovely Valentine's Day. My sweetie and I are going to have dinner on the steam train that starts in Garibaldi and turns around in Wheeler. It is a three-hour excursion, enjoying views of Tillamook Bay, the Pacific Ocean and Nehalem Bay. There is also a four-course meal while you are enjoying the sights.
