IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

I was mentioning to Dave how tired I felt and it suddenly dawned on me why. Ever since we got back from Phoenix a week ago Thursday, I haven't had much chance to slow down.

Brushwhackin Friday, I spent all day cleaning the house as we had some friends stay there while we were away. I had to change all the bedding and towels and then vacuum the carpets. The cupboards were bare, so it was a quick trip to the store to stock up because the kids were coming down for the three-day weekend. Leslie and Jason arrived Friday night with their two girls, Ashtin and Paige. Lara and Greg arrived on Saturday with Jadyn and Jaysa. I cooked up some lasagna for dinner Friday night and Saturday we had pizza from our local parlor. Wouldn't you know? We had a lot of outdoor projects planned, but it rained all weekend so we had to spend most of the time indoors. Greg and Jason managed to get out and prune some of the trees and bushes that were taking over the roadway up the hill by the side of our place. Greg tried to use Dave's chainsaw, but it was so dull and the chain kept slipping so he said he would come down again to finish the job when he would bring his own saw.

After we divided up all the grapefruit, lemons and oranges that we brought from Arizona, everyone left around noon on Monday. After that, I did get a chance to relax and catch my breath. We took Des and Donna Kahrs out to dinner that night so that was a break for me. We went to one of our favorite restaurants, Rosanna's in Oceanside. We were planning on watching the sun set over the ocean but it was still raining and overcast. We had a lovely time just the same.

Jan & Jaysa Wouldn't you know it, the sun came out the next day. I did manage to get up and go to my water aerobics class that I have missed for the last couple of weeks. I figured I had better take advantage of the one and only day that I would be able to attend this week. I could sure feel the difference that I had missed those weeks too. After I got back home, we packed up our bags and headed back into Portland for a Blazer game that night. Since then, I have been babysitting for Lara and Greg for the rest of this week. The girls - one is almost two and the other is four - are easy to care for but my energy level is way down, no wonder I am tired.

We have another Blazer game tonight and then we are heading home after the game. I want to attend a seed-planting clinic Saturday morning at home. I want to be able to start a bunch of my own bedding plants from seed instead of buying them. We will be back into town next Wednesday for another Blazer game and a couple more days of babysitting.
