IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Honestly, I don't have much to talk about this week as not much happened, so I will make this short.

We came home from Portland on Sunday, just in time to watch the Super Bowl. At the half, we turned it off. I was so disappointed in the weak officiating and the Seahawks letting the weak officials get into their heads, that I didn't want to watch anymore of it. We ordered a pizza and spent the rest of the day getting caught up with the Sunday paper and the rest of the news around town. We will be home until February 22nd and it really feels good to be back in the neighborhood.

While we were in town, we were following the forecast of high winds down here on the coast. They were predicted to be around 75 miles per hour along the coastal headlands and between 50 and 60 at our place. I guess they didn't quite make that, but they were plenty strong anyway. All the way down here on Sunday we saw trees that had blown down across the highway. The road crews got out with chainsaws to clear them, but I bet we saw a hundred downed trees that had been blocking the road before they were cleared. The hillside above our place finally had too much rain and there was a huge landslide a couple of blocks away (or at least what would be a couple of blocks if it weren't all still in forest). Anyway, a chunk of hillside the size of a city block came down. Fortunately for us, the ravine angles off to the south and it followed that instead of coming straight down. I hope we've seen the last of this wild winter we've had!

Daffy The weatherman's promise of sunshine this week came true and on Monday it was so nice outside that I just couldn't stand being inside any longer so I washed my windows and gave the car a bath. I also managed to do a little sprucing up around the place by picking up fallen branches from the previous storms and pruning back some dead flowers. It looks like the hopes of spring may be just around the corner as my daffodils are beginning to open up.

I made it through four days of water aerobics this week. I don't know why I look forward to getting in a pool of water at 8:00 a.m. each morning with a bunch of similar ladies to do exercises. It does make me feel better so I guess that is the main reason.

We did manage to get together with our friends, Des and Donna Kahrs. They invited us down for dinner the other night and we had a wonderful time. We took along a bottle of wine and a homemade apple pie for dessert. The pie managed to boil over in the oven while it was baking and dripping into the drawer below the oven getting most of my potholders wet and gooey. So I spent the next day cleaning up the mess that the oven made which included washing potholders and cleaning out the inside of a drawer filled with apple pie goo. What fun!

So my adventures for this week haven't been that exciting, but who knows what tomorrow will bring? Stay tuned!
