IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Mushroom We stayed in Portland last weekend as we thought Dave was going to have to announce the races, but the weather didn't cooperate. He didn't work either night, so we moved our motorhome from the racetrack over to Lara and Greg's until next weekend. He was using the motorhome as a base camp while he was announcing during the summer. While there, I noticed this huge mushroom and couldn't resist taking a picture of the thing. I don't know if it was poisonous or not, but I sure wasn't going to taste it to find out.

While we were in town, we looked at another place for my mom and we finally put a deposit on a place called Princeton Village out in Clackamas. It is a little further for us to go to visit with her and a lot more expensive than where she is now. But she said she likes it and it is her money.

Jake, Sunny A couple of weeks ago while we were taking care of Leslie's two girls, we showed pictures of them with their Halloween costumes on. So while we were in town this weekend, we took a picture of Lara's two in their costumes. We have Jadyn as a fairy and Jaysa as a flower. Aren't they cute! Rain, rain, go away!! We had quite a storm Sunday night with about 3 inches of rain and wind gusts up to 45 mph. That didn't stop us! On Monday we took off for Everett, Washington to the shipyard to see how the repairs on the Captain Bell were doing. On the way up north through Seaside, we came across high water on the road and had to wait our turn to get through. It took us about 5 hours to reach Bainbridge Island where we met up with some steamboat buddies. We all went out to dinner at this Mexican restaurant and then we stayed in one of the couples' new motorhome. After breakfast the next morning, we headed to Kingston to catch the ferry for Edmonds and then on to Everett. We looked in on the boat, which they haven't really done much work on. They were waiting to hear back from the insurance company and when we told them that they had already sent us a check to cover the repairs, their eyes lit up and I am sure that will encourage them to get on with it. The guy that is suppose to be checking the boiler was out Elk hunting so we didn't get to talk to him, but talked to someone else in charge and they will start checking the boiler to see if that needs to be replaced. Hopefully, by this spring, we should have the boat back.

We met some other friends that live in the Everett area for a nice dinner on Tuesday night and had a really nice visit with them.

On Wednesday we decided to head over to Whidbey Island to visit with a shirt-tail relative (Dave's 5th cousin) that lives there. We had a nice long visit and then we met her parents and her son for lunch at Applebee's. By the time we left, it was almost 2:00 and we wanted to make the 5-hour trip back home that evening. We caught another ferry at Keystone and that took us over to Port Townsend where we connected to Highway 101 and then it was home from there. It sure felt good to be back in our own bed again.

Thursday, we woke up to more wind and rain. In fact, the island out in front of our place is completely covered at high tide. It really looks strange to see so much water.

This weekend, it is back into Portland to engineer the first home Blazer game of the regular season and then we will bring the motorhome back down here for storage on Sunday.
