IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

Let's see, what did I do this week?

Girls Last Friday we went into town to take care of a few appointments and Dave had to announce the races for the weekend. He worked Friday night but it rained too hard on Saturday, so he didn't have to work.

While Dave was working on Friday night, I went out to the pumpkin patch with two of my granddaughters, Jadyn and Jaysa. What fun!! We didn't get away until 5:00 and the place closed at 6:00, so we didn't have a lot of time. Luckily, the pumpkin patch isn't too far from their place. On the way, wouldn't you know, Jaysa had a major blowout so Lara had to completely undress her and she had only a dress and some clodhoppers for shoes in her diaper bag. She looked like a Beverly Hillbilly! Anyway, a friend of hers who was at the patch too, lent her a pair of pants so the kid could at least keep warm. So after we got her all changed and everything, we had about a half an hour left to see everything.
Jadyn Farm Jadyn They had a mother pig with eight newborn piglets, chickens, goats, calves (which we being fed with baby bottles) and this huge slide made out of a conduit pipe. Of course, they had lots and lots of pumpkins for sale.

Saturday morning, Dave and I did some major shopping at Costco and then Saturday afternoon I had an appointment with my sister Judy to look at an assisted living place for my Mom. She is living in an independent living place right now, but she is starting to need extra care, which means that we are going to have to move her sooner or later. Of course, my Mom doesn't want to move very much, so that complicates things. The place we looked is very nice and a bit more expensive than what she is in now, but we think she will get better care.

The Chamber of Commerce held a "thank-you" spaghetti dinner for the visitor's booth volunteers on Tuesday, so we went to that and got a free meal. I like free, and I like when someone else cooks!

cactus My Christmas cactus is confused. It is loaded with blooms and it is only October! I haven't seen it bloom like this in a long time and who cares if it is early or not.

I fell up the concrete stairs on my way to my aerobics class the other day and skinned up my bad knee and hands, but I am okay. At least I fell up, and not down! I made it through my class just fine but I skipped class on Wednesday, as I was a little sore. But I felt better by Thursday, and was back at it again.

Construction is finally underway on the garage for Leanna's house next door. That was the last thing we had to do for that piece of property, get the garage built. We started this project last spring, but missed communications and a jammed job schedule interfered, so they said it would be September before they could start on it. Well, it's mid-October and they're just now getting around to it. But because it's a "pole-barn" type of structure, it will only take them three or four days to put it up, so by this time next week, we may have pictures.

This weekend we are going down to Salem to baby-sit for Leslie and Jason while they attend a wedding. We will also take in Ashtin's soccer game. Did I mention that Ashtin is wearing glasses now and is seeing better? She thinks they are cool. I'll get some pictures and post them here next week.

Have a nice weekend everybody!
