IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

It's been a usual week down at the coast.

I stayed down here all weekend as I had volunteered to help with the Visitor's Information Center for the Chamber of Commerce on Friday. That was interesting but very slow. Not many people came by for information, probably because it was raining! On Saturday, the weather cleared up enough for me to help at the Crab Festival in the Chamber's ice cream booth, making root beer floats and ice cream cones. Then on Sunday I helped serve crab. We had quite a good turnout considering the weather was on the "iffy" side. So I should be caught up with my "civic" duty for a while.

After I finished at the Crab Festival on Sunday, I drove into town and met Dave in West Linn after his weekend of announcing the Champ Car races. We stayed at Lara and Greg's long enough to get a partial grandkid "fix" and then we brought my Mom back down to the coast with us on Monday and she has been here all week. We are taking her back today. Needless to say, I have been entertaining her all week and I haven't been able to get much done, like yard work and stuff. She doesn't feel much like doing anything, so we've stayed pretty close to home. I did take her to Tillamook to do some grocery shopping. She sat and "people-watched" while I ran around and got the groceries. I also managed to get her to go with me to the recycle center, but other than that, we've been right here. She likes to watch baseball on television, so I have gotten my fill of that this week. Braves, Cubs, Mariners, College World Series...you name it, we've watched it!

Because I'm behind on my chores for the week, I'm coming right back down here after I drop Mom off at her place in Portland. As usual, Dave will stay in town to do his announcing thing.

GIVE ME A BREAK

I haven't complained for quite some time so here goes. If I receive another batch of return address labels in the mail from any more charities, I am going to scream. I have a lifetime supply of labels and I really, really wish they would stop sending them. I think I could start a mail-order business with all the labels I get. I think they have worked that idea into the ground and should think of something else to entice people to send them money!

It's a short entry this week. Not much to talk about.
