IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

It has been one of those weeks. We flew out of Phoenix on schedule Friday morning. My sister Judy picked us up at the airport and we dropped Mom off at her place and retrieved our car. We returned to the coast that afternoon after stopping by Lara and Greg's really quick to drop off the bounty of fruit that we had picked in Arizona. We had to get back home as we were having guests for the weekend.

Lara, Greg and Jadyn arrived first and spent Saturday night with us. Greg was going to do some yard work me, so he mowed the much-neglected lawn and spent the rest of Saturday and part of Sunday hacking down the blackberry bushes around the church. What a difference it made! I made a chocolate/vanilla cheesecake for Lara. She is a chocoholic like her Mom; can't you tell by the picture? Lara and I squeezed a bunch of the lemons from Arizona and made some fresh lemonade. It sure was yummie. I spent a lot of time playing with Jadyn. She enjoys playing with the barn and animals that we got as a Christmas present from our German daughter, Tina.

Sunday evening our other company arrived. I barely had time to get the beds changed and the spare bathroom spruced up. My two sisters, Jeanne and Judy, plus Jeanne's friends, Barb and Steve spent Sunday and Monday morning with us. Judy had never seen our place, so I'm glad she had a chance to come down. We had a good visit and the weather was out of this world. It's hard to believe this is February at the Oregon coast...it was sunny and 70 degrees!

Monday night, as if I didn't have enough company for the last few days, I invited our good friends, Des and Donna Kahrs over for dinner. They have been in California for the last month and we have been gone so we hadn't seen each other for quite awhile and we had some catching up to do.

Tuesday I managed to get myself out of bed and up to my water acrobatics class. It is like starting over again when you don't go very often. I keep hoping my life will slow down long enough to be able to attend regularly, but that doesn't look like it is going to happen for while.

Are you ready for this? After all that talk about how much I'm enjoying retirement, it looks like I am going to become a working gal again! At least for a while. I got an e-mail from a woman at my old workplace and she wanted to know if I would be interested in a 2-3 week project. It sounded like fun, so for the next couple of weeks it is off to work for me! Since this is a fill-in job, I had to go to the temp agency and fill out pages of forms, and I mean pages. I hate doing the paperwork, but after about an hour, I was all signed up. I still had to take a drug test; so then it was off to the lab to give them a specimen. Finding the lab was another story. The directions weren't very clear and after not finding Building #6, I had to call them when I was at the last building, which was #5. I finally found it, but it took so long, I almost lost my "specimen" looking for the place! When I got there, the gal could care less when I told her that the directions were all wrong. In fact she was a little annoyed that I had to tear her away from some soap show she was watching on her computer! I hope all of this will be worth it!

We came back into West Linn on Wednesday as we had a Blazer game to do that night. We also will stay in town for games tonight and Sunday. Then I start my temp job on Monday. Who knows when I will be back home again? A couple of weeks ago I was complaining that I was only home for about 15 days in January and February. Now I may only get three days in Wheeler in March! Between my temp job, a bunch of Blazer games, taking care of grandkids while Jason and Leslie go NASCAR-ing and our own trip to Ashland for the Shakespeare Festival, we just aren't going to be at the coast much until April!
