IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

After being back home for a couple of days, we left again on Saturday for a week's worth of games in Portland. We had Blazer games on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week, and stayed in town for all of them. I feel like we haven't been home very much this month (only 6 days) and it will feel good to finally get back home tomorrow.

Backing up now, on Sunday we drove down to Salem and had dinner with Leslie and her family. It was great to see the grandchildren again, although they weren't in very good moods. We watched the football game with them. According to her daddy, Ashtin has predicted the winner of each game during the playoffs and has chosen the Philadelphia Eagles to win the Super Bowl. If they win, I'm taking that girl to Las Vegas!!

We have been at Lara and Greg's all this week. Lara is about 6 months pregnant now and is looking good. We are also enjoying the antics of our other granddaughter, Jadyn. She just jabbers away and is so amusing. We have a feeling that her little world is going to be turned around once she has to share it with her new sister who arrives in May.

Monday night, the Blazers played the San Antonio Spurs and what was exciting about this game was that Eva Longoria from "Desperate Housewives" was in the crowd. That is one of my "do not miss" TV shows, so that was pretty exciting! She apparently is dating one of the Spurs, Tony Parker, and she came to see him play. It was an exciting game too, because the Blazers won! It has been a real disappointing season for the Blazers and it was good to see them really play a good team and win.

Tuesday, I had lunch with my friend, Bernadette. When I was working, we used to have lunch everyday, so it was fun to get together with her and get caught up on all of the gossip. After lunch, I came back home and helped baby-sit Jadyn who wasn't having a very good day and really needed a pit stop. After a two-hour nap she was like a different kid. It is amazing was a little sleep can do!!

Wednesday, another game and another loss, but since we have a game on Friday, and there was nothing scheduled in the arena on Thursday, we got to leave our equipment set up. That saves us about an hour after the game, so we got home at a decent hour for a change.

Thursday was another lazy day and we went over to visit with my Mom and sister. We also babysat Jadyn while her folks worked. Nothing much else to do so we just played with the digital camera. Even Grandad got caught in a self-portrait and Jadyn took this one of me. As soon as a picture is taken, she runs to the camera to inspect the photo. I think she'd be frustrated with a regular film camera when she couldn't see the picture right away!! That evening, we went out to dinner with our friends Stan and Terrie, in appreciation for them letting us use their home in Florida while we were there.

Our weather has been unbelievable. It feels like spring outside with temperatures in the mid-50's and low 60's. Everyone is complaining about the low snow levels up on Mt. Hood and the little rain that we have had. Average rainfall for Portland is more than five inches in January, and right now, they're at less than an inch and a half for the month. Mt. Hood ski areas that are usually doing a booming business this time of year are closed for lack of snow. We may be in for a dry summer as we depend on the melting snow pack for our summer water.

Speaking of the nice weather, when I was home last week and the weather was good, I worked out in the yard, cutting back plants and raking up the last of the leaves. I discovered that I must be allergic to something out there as my eyes started to burn and my nose ran. I think it is the fuchsia bushes that I was cutting back. The daffodils and tulips are beginning to surface and it just feels like an early spring...one of my favorite times of the year.

Sorry this was posted a day late. There was some kind of computer glitch that would have kept the pictures from being posted. I'll explain next week. Have a good week!
