IT'S FRIDAY, MY FAVORITE DAY!!

I wasn't going to put an entry in this week, but decided to make it a short one. Where has the week gone? I have been told that when you retire you can't imagine how you found the time for work. I have only been retired for two weeks and I feel that way. Although I do miss everyone at work, I am sure keeping myself busy!

We left Sunday night for the coast after Dave finished with the races and got down there around 10:00 p.m. We wanted to be there early on Monday and decided to leave Sunday night so we could sleep in on Monday. Dave was expecting the electrical inspector to show up first thing and as it was he didn't come by until later that afternoon. We passed with flying colors and so now it is on with the next step...ordering the PUD to hook up the power. Meanwhile, the guys from the manufactured home company came back on Tuesday and they started fixing up the inside, plastering the cracks, checking the water system and hooking up the appliances.

I don't know if I explained it or not, but the manufactured home is the one we were going to move in to when I retired. It's on the lot next door to the home built by Dave's parents 25 years ago. We were going to live in the new house and be next door to his mom. When his mom died in January, it changed all our plans. Instead of moving into the manufactured home, we moved into his parents' house and Dave's sister will now live in the new house.

We had beautiful weather, so I worked out in the yard. I managed to get another flowerbed in order. I sorted through some closets in the house and also cleaned the motorhome and to get it ready to bring back to West Linn to take to the family reunion.

We left for the reunion on Thursday afternoon. It is about a 2-1/2 hour drive east up the Columbia Gorge to Husum, Washington to Fort Run-A-Muck. Fort Run-A-Muck is the name that Dave's uncle gave the place. They have about 10 acres and in the lower part is a park they maintain so we can hold the Nichols Family Reunion. That is Dave's mother's side of the family. They are a crazy bunch when they all get together and they always have great stories to tell. The reunion isn't until Saturday but Dave has races this weekend and won't be able to be there, so he is taking me up in the motorhome and then driving back and forth until Sunday. We won't be leaving there until Monday. The weather is supposed to be HOT.

GIVE ME A BREAK!!

My gripe for this week: On our way back from the coast, Dave is driving the motorhome and I am following him in the Jeep. It's an older motorhome and doesn't go top speed and so Dave is conscious of that by pulling into the slow lanes whenever possible to let cars by. While we were in one of these slow lanes letting cars go by us, one dude was in such a hurry to get by me that I ran out of lane and was practically in the ditch so that he could pass me! And for what? So he could follow behind the motorhome because Dave was already in the only lane left to be in! I guess Dave "signaled his displeasure" when the guy passed him later on! I would have, but I'm not that kind of girl!!

Have a nice weekend and I hope to see you next week with pics of the family reunion!!
